Great is thy faithfulness

Mar. 14th, 2011 | 09:25 am

One of my favourite hymns was sung in church today (:

And then pastor’s message from Ephesians 1:7-9 reminded me just how blessed I am to know Him. Just simply, to know Him. I think it’s something I’ve taken for granted after so many years. And thinking back on His faithfulness and grace…it’s quite astounding. How He has never given up on me despite the countless times I gave up on Him, doubted Him and strayed from Him. Instead He continues to guide me, teach me, mould me - into a better person, a better companion, a better daughter, a better servant. The blessings He has bestowed, like in the stirring of my grandfather’s heart. Like me sitting on the pews of Bethany on a Sunday morning. It’s amazing, and every reminder of all this humbles me like nothing else ever does.

I think I need words back in my life. A sign of troubled times ahead?

Resurrection

I think I kind of miss this place, although the clock isn't letting me have time to truly explore this newfound emotion.

ON HIATUS

Sticking to the group blog, for now. For everything else, I think it's best kept anyway from the internet.

Other than that, there are many things that have occurred in the past few weeks/months since my hiatus that I wish I had blogged about. The surprise dinner Char and Rach threw at my place, first anni, Ave's birthday dinner and JETSKIING/BANANA BOATING/JUMPING OFF THE TOP OF A 3-STOREY YACHT IN KUSU ISLANDS!!! Nearer the present and its the wonderful day I had yesterday back in VJ, with wonderful friends and classmates who made those two years so awesome (:

But seeing there's camp again tomorrow it must all wait another day. Till then friends!

Stressed? Escape to a beach resort on an island, seriously. The past few days have been unbelievable - I had no idea there were so many different ways to lie down and do nothing. I've been toggling between these few - long warm bubble baths with these amazing blue bath salts that moisturise like crazy and smell like the sea, lying on a sunbed on the beach under the hot sun, drifting around in the SUPER BIG (they claim its the biggest pool is SE Asia) pool on a ring float, SEA on a ring float, and, my favourite: dozing underneath palm trees on a hammock overlooking the beach with the cool sea breeze. Add Nutini/Mraz/Amos Lee/Legend for music, shades, and Bryson's book (clever Jarren for discovering him!), and you've got heaven. I also vow to make sure that my next home (whenever that is), is well equipped with hammocks and bath salts.

Hello from the Business Class Lounge at the airport (which we're in despite not flying business muahaha). Flight's in an hour and a half and the stupid matriculation site is not working aod;guepwtugqe. Cannot wait to just get away from it all - after the Ho Chi Minh stop it's gonna just be me and nature baby. Wanping, I'm following your advice and arming myself with a disposable camera, as well as Kelly's Holga (:

the evil time of the month

Jun. 8th, 2009 | 12:00 am
mood: bitchypmsy

So today was beyond horrible, thanks to the worst bout of PMS I've EVER experienced in my life. Cried on my parents during lunch for no reason at all, the waiters were all O.O Cried on a bemused Jarren in the afternoon at Starbucks when he simply said "Isn't this what you've said before?" Cried harder when he laughed at me. AGAIN when I found out I was locked out of the house and had to wait for my parents to get back in about an hour; and AGAIN in the middle of the night, randomly, when surfing the web. Someone needs to lock me up during this time of the month >:(

That aside, I do think I'm justified to a certain degree of annoyance. Some people can really be quite tactless. But oh well. Just suck thumb.

the 80s is REALLY back.

Since like forever (or at least since I started taking notice of fashion trends back at the start of the good old SCGS days), my mother has been predicting fashion trends. In 2004 at the height of the hipster, she predicted everyone would one day be back in those high waisted bottoms that mobbed the 80s and 90s. I laughed out loud. Now we're here and ta-da, I was wrong. She got other major trends pretty accurately too - ballet flats, maxi skirts and dresses, etc. But there was one I NEVER believed would EVER, EVER come back, as long as society still had a fibre of sense.

"Shoulder pads will be back one day," says she.

"ARE YOU KIDDING. No one ever wants to remember the 80s. And that was the queen hideous look of the 80s." says me.
